Easy Soft Shawarma Bread (No Yeast)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the warm water and vegetable oil into the flour mixture. Mix until it forms a lump.
  3. Transfer the dough into a lightly floured surface and knead until it formed into a smooth ball but not sticky. Cover with plastic wrap, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 10 equal size balls. Roll each ball into a 6-inch circle, About 1/4" thick.
  5. Over medium heat, lightly grease a nonstick pan with a 1/2 teaspoon of oil. Cook the flatten shawarma dough for about 1 minute each side, lightly pressing down with a spatula when it puffs up.
