Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl.

Add the warm water and vegetable oil into the flour mixture. Mix until it forms a lump.

Transfer the dough into a lightly floured surface and knead until it formed into a smooth ball but not sticky. Cover with plastic wrap, and let rest for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into 10 equal size balls. Roll each ball into a 6-inch circle, About 1/4" thick.

Over medium heat, lightly grease a nonstick pan with a 1/2 teaspoon of oil. Cook the flatten shawarma dough for about 1 minute each side, lightly pressing down with a spatula when it puffs up.
