Sago at Gulaman

Ingredients

  • 1 cup small tapioca / sago pearls
  • 1 pouch gelatin powder unflavored
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 pcs pandan leaves tied
  • 3/4 teaspoon banana essence
  • crushed ice

Instructions

How to make sago

  1. Boil a half liter of water and add the sago pearls then stir gently for about 10 minutes or until translucent and with no white dot in the center. Remove from heat, rinse with tap water and drain.

How to make Gulaman

  1. Over medium heat, bring water to a boil. Slowly add the gelatin powder and stir constantly until completely dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and transfer into a tray or flat dish and chill until gulaman firmly sets. Cut into small squares.

How to make Sago Gulaman Syrup (Arnibal)

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium heat. Add the sugar and pandan leaves. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolves. Set aside to cool.

How to make Sago Gulaman Drink

  1. In a pitcher, Add 4 cups of cold water, add entire arnibal and banana essence. Mix well.

  2. In a glass, Add sago pearls, gulaman and crushed ice. Pour in the liquid mixture.

Recipe Notes

If you are going to use ice cubes instead of crushed ice, Just add half of the arnibal in the cold water.
